Terms of Use
The agreement between you and Kindline for using the app.
Effective date: October 22, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Law Offices of Jesus R. Lopez, PLLC ("we", "us") for your use of Kindline. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. Who can use Kindline
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. Use your legal name: it appears on every message and on exported records.
2. Kindline is not legal advice
Kindline is a communication and record-keeping tool. Nothing in Kindline, including AI suggestions, tone checks, custody schedule calculations or listings on the "Find help" screen, is legal advice, and using Kindline does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone. Talk to a lawyer about your situation.
3. Your case record is permanent
Messages, attachments, calendar items, schedule and swap requests and answers, expenses and their status, children's information changes, check-ins and case activity cannot be edited or deleted by either parent once added. Calendar items and expenses can be cancelled or withdrawn, and that is also recorded. Think before you send.
4. Both parents are equal
Both parents in a case have the same rights. Creating a case gives no extra control over it. Either parent may export the record. Each parent may give read-only access to a professional (such as their attorney, a mediator or a guardian ad litem); every grant and removal is recorded in the case.
5. Custody schedules
Schedule calculations, including the Texas Standard and Expanded Standard Possession Order options, are estimates based on general rules and common school dates. Your court order controls. Do not rely on Kindline's calendar instead of your order; correct individual dates with change requests agreed by both parents.
6. AI help
Suggested replies and tone checks are generated by AI and can be wrong or inappropriate. You decide what to send and are responsible for it. AI help is limited per day.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use Kindline to threaten, harass, stalk or intimidate anyone; to share illegal content or content that sexualizes minors; to impersonate anyone; to access a case you are not part of; or to interfere with the service. You can report a message from the message menu. We may review reported content and suspend or close accounts that break these terms, but because records are permanent, removing an account does not remove what is already in a case.
If you or anyone is in danger, call 911. Kindline is not an emergency service.
8. Records and verification
PDF records are generated by our servers from the stored case record and carry a verification code. The verification page confirms whether a PDF matches the original. We do not guarantee that any court will admit a record; that is up to the court and the rules of evidence.
9. Find help listings
Hotlines and listings on the "Find help" screen are provided for convenience. Listings marked "Sponsored" are paid placements. We do not endorse any provider and are not responsible for their services. Listings for lawyers are attorney advertising.
10. Your content
You keep ownership of what you add to Kindline. You give us permission to store, process and display it as needed to run Kindline, including sending it to the other parent, professionals given access, and our service providers as described in the Privacy Policy, and to create records at the request of people in the case.
11. Availability and changes
We may change or stop features. We will try to give notice of significant changes. We may update these terms; continuing to use Kindline after an update means you accept it.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Kindline is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that Kindline will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that notifications will always arrive.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of Kindline, and our total liability for any claim is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you add to Kindline or your violation of these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Bexar County, Texas, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
